I don't believe there's ever been a year that I've been this anxious for spring to arrive. I'm ready for the cold and ice to subside and make way for sunshine and flowers. Of course, I'm also excited for spring fashion to emerge. First things first, the trends I'm seeing in sprout up for spring, are so fun! light toned pastels are a huge must for spring. And to all my 90's babies, you'll be pleased to hear that early 2000's trends are making a huge comeback this season. That's right! I'm seeing chunky heels, cropped cardigans, plaid dresses, and asymmetrical hems everywhere this season, and I have to say, I'm not mad about it.
I teamed up with rue21 to dig into their Spring ready-New Arrivals, and style some looks worthy of warmer days ahead. I'm a huge fan of rue21, their pieces are affordable, trendy, and so fun! Both of these looks featured below are under $90 head to toe!
First, I went for a classic take on some fun spring trends. This one-sleeved top, is equally trendy, as it is versatile. It's a piece that can seamlessly transition from day to night with the addition of a fitted blazer, or denim jacket for example. I paired the top with these distressed straight leg jeans. The asymmetric waistline and edgy distressing really won me over. I threw in a nod to the 2000's trends with these chunky heeled, white strappy heels.
For the second look I was inspired by Cher from Clueless. I can't express enough, how excited I am that plaid mini dresses are making a comeback. This dress is not only so fun and trendy, but it's also really flattering as well. I chose a matching tie-front cardigan to pair with the dress. I love the ultra-lightweight material of this one. And finished the look off with ruffled, kitten heeled sandals.
